We thought that it's just a tool that helps us interact with the people we knew.  Back then the most commonly used social media platforms were; Friendster, which features profile modification, testimonial posting, and instant messaging. Yahoo Messenger where you do live chats and video calls, and finally Myspace, it's the same as Friendster, but with a different style of platform.

Then Facebook was born. Facebook is a social media website/platform that has the complete package of all the social media trends listed above. Facebook changes the approach of how people use and view social media. It compresses all those significant plug-ins and features in a user-friendly manner. And by doing that, it quickly changes the viewpoint of the people towards social media.

With the creation and booming popularity of Facebook, many social media websites followed in its footsteps and made their way to become a large company and taken the internet by storm. A recent study shows in 2017, that almost 80% of people now use social media and expected to be still on the rise as the future comes. Well, it still depends on what social media most people use whether Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and much more.

Now, many people found its way that it is easier to be recognized on the face on the internet with the help of social media, there become an increasing rate of bloggers, online shop and news websites. With the use of social media, it helps them to gain popularity and even make some money out of it and website traffic becomes more relevant.

Online marketing also made its way into the limelight as social media rises. Technopreneurs found a new way of making name and popularity through the use of social media. An overall modification and approach to business marketing are being applied and updated as the years go by. So, social media websites/platform also took the advantage of that idea to serve them their needs whether business or personal gain, in an easy way.

Now, social media is almost the center of the society. Big and small business plays the crucial role in this. And because social media is not only used for people to people connection but also used in the marketing business, they have their marketing strategies for free. Let us expect more of this advancement in the near future as ideas and concept never sleep. Maybe time will come that all of this will be just a click away. I mean, literally, just a click. And all of these processes will be all part of everybody’s life.
